Instructional Design Sample:
Office Manager Training
Project Overview
Tasked with training 52 office managers and assistants at 26 different stores with 13 different methods of completing tasks, I created an extensive e-learning course, training manual, and several “cheat sheets.” To the right, you can click a course to view a small sample of a much larger training.
Project Research and Development
I spent extensive time working with subject matter experts and my own office management experience to identify clarification opportunities, foresee troubleshooting, and find agreement on best practices. Voice, colors, fonts, and style choices reflect company branding at the time.
Project Outcome
The training I created improved reporting accuracy, time spent correcting accounting errors, and the overall efficiency of the position. Seeing the process laid in a digestible format also enabled leadership at the home office and in the stores to recognize the amount of labor and tasks associated with the office manager position, which led to a variety of changes and improvements, including an overhaul of the entire office manager position.
